OCWAP Enforcement Action Summary:
William J. Welt, Inc.
A routine review of the water quality file for William J. Welt, Inc. by OCWAP at the DEQ’s Eugene office appeared to indicate that William J. Welt, Inc. had violated its permit and the Clean Water Act by failing to send monitoring reports for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 monitoring periods to the DEQ. OCWAP contacted William J. Welt, Inc. on behalf of Sierra Club about these violations in October of 2005, which prompted William J. Welt, Inc. to submit the missing monitoring reports to the DEQ. OCWAP then reviewed these monitoring reports, which did not indicate exceedance of permit benchmarks.
