OCWAP Enforcement Action Summary:
Source Recycling

Oregon Clean Water Action Project initiated a Clean Water Act enforcement action against Source Recycling on behalf of Willamette Riverkeeper in December of 2008 alleging that Source Recycling violated requirements of its NPDES stormwater discharge permit. Source Recycling was acquired by Allied Waste since the violations alleged by Willamette Riverkeeper, and Allied Waste agreed to comply with its Clean Water Act obligations in the future, and, without admitting liability, made payments to the Luckiamute Watershed Council and to the Mary’s River Watershed Council for their use in work benefiting water quality. Allied Waste also agreed to send additional funds to these watershed councils if it violates similar Clean Water Act provisions in the future.
